Collaborative Law Institute of Texas
Awarded the 2004 Public Relations Society of America 1st Place Award of Excellence for the “New Direction” promotion campaign at the Advanced Family Law meeting.
Situation
The Collaborative Law Institute of Texas (CLI-TX) was a group of 12 board members interested expanding the practice of Collaborative Law to the state of Texas. CLI-TX was not growing or progressing, the board wanted to significantly expand the growth of collaborative Law throughout the state of Texas.
Intervention
Conducted over 20 interviews with board members and key leaders in the collaborative community to better understand key success factors and barriers to growth. Facilitated a 2 day strategic planning meeting and follow up meeting. Created a strategic marketing plan.
Results
Two months following the strategic planning retreat, CLI-TX grew from an organization with no members or structure to the largest collaborative law institute in the country with 225 members.
The following key goals were met:
- CLI-TX communicated a unified voice for the Collaborative Law throughout Texas.
- Developed a Mission, Vision and Value statement to focus and provide direction for CLI-TX
- Created “A New Direction” campaign at the Advanced Family Law meeting- enrolled 90 new members.
- Raised over $100,000 in new membership to fund a statewide marketing campaign and web site.
- Developed a Collaborative Law marketing brochure for CLI-TX members to market collaborative practice.
- Implemented a media relations campaign in Austin, Houston and Dallas that resulted in over $200,000 in media value for news coverage and articles in major publications.
- Created a member and public web site to educate community on Collaborative Law and provide members with resources to build a collaborative practice. See www.collablawtexas.org web site.
